When Mary Tillman had learned that her son, Pat Tillman, an NFL football star was shot and killed as an Army Ranger in Afghanistan, she became very overwhelmed by this event. The Pentagon tried to change the story of Pat's death by claiming that he had died heroically. They said that Pat died in an enemy ambush. What really happened was he was killed by American bullets. Although the Pentagon knew that this is what really happened all along, it took them 5 weeks to confess only PART of the truth. The military finally told Mary that fellow American soldiers killed him, but it was supposedly "friendly fire". Still today, Mary Tillman says that she doesn't actually have the TRUE story of how her son had actually died. However, the Tillman family still didn't even bother to sue the U.S. government at all.
Although it may seem strange to you, me, or anybody who learns of her decision, they actually had reasons not to sue the government.

One of the reasons that they had decided not to sue the government was probably because they were fascinated by being in the army and the army itself, so although he died he had an opportunity to feel the experience. Also, the family had a military past. Her father served for us in the Korean War, and her uncle from her mother's side who served for us in World War II, as well as the Korean War, and the National Guard. The Tillman's family has a great deal to do with the army and history. Along with her family, her ex-husband had something do with history-he studied it. I think that because of the Tillman's relationship with our army and history, they are proud of themselves, and also Pat may have made a big difference in our lives. Those are some of the reasons that The Tillman family didn't sue the U.S. Government.

I think the reason that Mary Tillman didnt sue the government for this event is that she didnt know what really happened and she doesnt have any evidence to show that he was killed. Mary Tillman said that she all of her sons clothing was kept at room tempurture and the temperuture ruined the evidence of clothing.

I think that Mary Tillman had chosen not to sue the U.S. Government because her family was very involved with the military. Her father represented the u.s.a in the korean war. Also other family members both from mother and father's side were in the war. Another reason that i think Mary Tillman did not sue the U.S Government was because she really didn't know the full story of what had happened to her son. She didn't have enough evidence to prove that her son was actually murdered by a fellow soldier.

I will tell you what happened on March 27, 2007. It was an interview with Pat Tillman's. The title was “Mary Tillman, Seeking the Truth About Her Son”.

Pat Tillman's mother, Mary Tillman, faced Defense Department officials Monday as they offered the latest explanation of what happened to her son in Afghanistan. Mary Tillman says her family believes it was given "a very imbalanced presentation."

"A lot of the information they gave us was based on what the individuals that were actually in the shooter vehicle – that was their point of view," she says. "They didn't give any kind of information based on anyone else in the situation. I mean, it's a very complicated situation; that's why it's hard to put it in some kind of a nutshell. All I can say is that what we received was very imbalanced."

Now I will tell you the reasons the Tillman family didn't sue the U.S. Government. The U.S. Government was right to make a cover-up on Pat Tillman death because which parent wants to hear his son has be friendly fired or murdered by his own brethren but it is true the truth could solve everything but sometimes lies can solve problems. Being in the army and the army itself fascinated the Tillman family that could mean they are warlike so accidents could happen or not. The Tillman family had a military past that means almost all of the family served in the army. The Tillman's family has a great deal to do with the army and history. The Tillman's family did not have any evidence what really happened to their son so they couldn’t sue the U.S. Government because Mary Tillman said that her sons clothing was kept at room temperature and the temperature ruined the evidence in the clothing. The right decision I think was to not to sue because first you need witnesses and evidence to win the fight for truth. These are the reasons the Tillman family didn’t sue the U.S. Government and my prediction if it was the right decision to sue or not to sue.

When Mary Tillman had learned that her son, Pat Tillman, an NFL football star was shot and killed as an Army Ranger in Afghanistan, she probably was both furious and very sad by this event. Even though the pentagon tried to get Mary to learn their version of the truth and hide what really happen she still didn't sue them why? Well because she knew her son wouldn't have sued the government if he had survived. Her son was a good person and she didn't want to do something that her son probably wouldn't have done, there is a part of her that would of have done it we all know that but she has a heart to not sue them.(but if I was her I would like to know the truth, and I would be furious to know that the government was trying to hide the truth from me)

Mary Tillman was the mother of NFL star Pat Tillman. Then he was shot by a Army Ranger in Afganistan. She was shocked when she heard the news. She could not sue because the man was ominous and had nothing to show as evindence. She might have gotten gotten arrested without evidence!

Mary Tillman the mother of an NFL football player PatTillman was shocked when she heard her son died in Afghanistan. Pat was an Army Ranger that was killed by American bullets. But the government switched the story and said he was killed in a enemy ambush.
The reason Mary Tillman didnt sue is because since her son and the rest of her family fought in wars she believed it was wrong to sue the country her family risked their own lives for.

Pat had died during the time in the army. The U.S. Government had told Mary (Pats mom) that her son had been shot by a friendly fired. They put up a lie because it was what the Tillman’s wanted to hear, even though it wasn’t true.
The Tillman’s family didn’t sue the U.S. government because they were fascinated by being in the army and the army itself. Also their family was in a military in the past. The Tillman’s history has a lot of things deal with the army. I think that it was right of them not to sue the U.S. government because they should be swollen with pride for what they did now and in their history.

Mary Tillman's son was killed when he became an army ranger in Afghanistan. He was an NFL football star and his mother Mary was depressed and just couldn't believe how and why this happened. What makes this story so ludicrous is that the government lied to Mary. They said that her son was killed in an ambush. They basically said he did a hero. But 5 weeks later they confesed that American soldiers killed him. Yet Mary still does not know the full story.

I believe that she did not sue the United States government because her son was so proud to be apart of the army and it changed him in so many ways. I also believ that she didn't sue the government because she did no know the full story. She does not know ehy or how it happened so that is probably a big reason she did not sue them.

Mary Tillman,(a author and a mother)who is proud of her military past. Mary tillman..was shocked to hear that her son died. The goverment should'nt have told Mary tillman a lie, which made her more desperate to look for the answers she need. It's extremely sad how you're own blood kills you?

The reasons Mary Tillman did'nt sue the goverment because she had a proud military past. Her whole family basically served in the military system..with honor. Mary Tillman did'nt want to give her country and blood a bad name by taking it to the court. Mary Tillman is proud of her dad for what he did and she was worrying she might upset him..by putting the military system and goverment in the life-line. The Life-line which means, where america could lose thousands of militaries and get a bad name.

Mary Tillman should have sued the goverement for one huge reason.
The reason is stated below:
1. The goverment made up a huge lie, about her son getting ambused by enimies...instead of telling her the truth. The truth is her son got killed by own blood(Usa military). The goverment should'nt have lied and putting Mary Tillman in stress finding the answers to her son's death. The goverment should be straight forward.

Th reason why Mary Tillman didnt sue the government is because the family fought in the army so she didnt want to due anyone that is risking their lives.

I think Mary Tillman did not want to sue the government for many reasons. 1 reason is for her family was very involved with the military and her father represented the USA in the Korean War. Also her son was shot and killed in Afghanistan. She also believed it was wrong to sue them because it was her family decision to get to war and serve their country, but the news had decided to switch the story and say he was killed in an enemy ambush? To me I believe Mary Tillman made the right decision and did not sue the government.

The reasons why the Tilman family did not sue the U.S. Government is because in the speech it the family understanded that friendly fire happens all the time. They also know that they were tricked but as Mary Tilman said that its okay because countless people have been tricked.
I think that the rightful decision was not to sue.The U.S. Government did trick the Tilman family but it was really the sons decision to actually join and the Tilman family knew that it knew gave up everything for them so it was okay.

Mary Tillman was the mother of pat Tillman. He was an NFL star that got shot and was killed in Afghanistan. He was an army ranger fighting in a war. The pentagon changed this story by saying that he died while fighting. There are many different stories to Pat Tillman’s death. Even his mother doesn’t know. The family could have sued the government but they haven’t taken any action. The family kept quiet because they didn’t have enough evidence to prove what really had happened. Another reason is that most of their family members had served in wars representing the U.S.

I think Mary tillman didnt want to sue the goverment for the death of her son. He was a fottball star. He was shot in the army in afganistin. He was shot by American bullets but the goverment lied and said he was shot by a army ambush. She didnt want to sue the goverment because she had no visiual evidance or any evidance. Still at this day Mary dosent know who killed her son and why they did it.

When Mary Tillman discovered that her son, an NFL star was killed in Afghanistan, She wanted to know the truth. The reason I think she didn't sue the government was for a couple reasons. One, I think she knew she couldn't win anyway because she has no proof and i don't think she could have afforted it. I feel sorry for her.

I think that mary tillman didnt sue the U.S Government because her son was in the U.S. army. So that means that is a big risk ang anny thing can happen when you are in the army. Also she probably didnt have any informational evidence to sue.

mary tillmons son pat tillman was shot and killed in avganistan. ithink that is very hard to come over, and people would think she would sue but insted something changed her mind. mary tollmon did not sue anyone because she really did not know who the killer was and did not have good reasons or evidence.i understand that the us goverment did streach the truth about pats death and that it was a heroic death and all but if i were in mary tillmons place i would also be confused and upset
