Rubiyath wrote about the cycle of poverty, "If all the classes are equal. My question to Tara Mango is: how can families from middle and lower classes pay for all [these programs] expenses...huge amount of taxes...?" Rubiyath is smart to look at economic inequalities, all good historians do.
In 1492, why did the Western Europeans set sail to conquer the world and not the Native Americans, Asians or Africans? The Answer is not that Europeans were smarter, better looking or that God loved them more. The answer is in economic inequalities.
Your assignment is to focus on one of the advantages Europe had in 1492 or on one of the disadvantages facing Native Americans or African. Write about this single advantage or disadvantage: the how and why it lead to European ascendancy. Refer to your class notes, the textbook may or may not be useful I suggest pages 22 - 65, and the videos below are for college level but you may get much out of it. Comment Due Tuesday October 7th.

In 1492, the Western Europeans set sail to conquer the world not the Native Americans, Asians, or Africans. This was because of Geography. Geography is the study of the earth surface. The Native Americans natural recourses were cocoa, corn, potatoes, squash, tobacco, and turkeys. The Asians natural recourses were petroleum forests, fish, water, and metal. The Africans natural resources were gold, copper, diamonds, coltan, oil, natural gas, timber, and coal.
Some of the advantages Europe had in the year 1492, were guns and diseases. Diseases are disordered or incorrectly working organ, bone or anything else in a living things body. Guns are weapons that consisted of steel and gunpowder. Most people would get their diseases from their animals such as dogs, cattle, pigs and etc.
In 1492 I think the best advantage was the fact they had guns. They could chase out any intruders and they could protect their selves from multiple enemies. They couldn't bother the Asians because they had geography(Geography is the science dealing with the real differentiation of the earth) on their side and they were unified they probably would influence the Europeans anyway or something of that sort. Besides it was a "gun" it probably looked scary to most of the people, and it was the perfect weapon(invention) to go conquer the world. That's why they were on top.
In 1492 I think the advantage is that they weapons to protect them self. If they didn’t people would attack them. No body could of bothered the Asians, Americans and the Africans because of there geography. Geography is study of the earth's surface; includes people's responses to topography and climate and soil and vegetation. That’s why guns were created to protect people. If any body tried to conquer them they would be ready for anything. That why it’s a advantage to protect your self with a wepon.

This geography features are what the European fears. I dont blame them.
Europe had many sucessful inventions. One invention which made it easy to defeat the native americans and africans as easy as a b c.. was the gun. Instead of testing their skills in fights they could just shoot the native americans and africans so they dont have to go through a lot. Eroupean can help themselves kill any intruders just by using this simple invetion. The reason the Eruopeans couldnt even bother to touch the Asians because they had geograpy such as rivers etc to help them out. The Europeans were very annoyed by the geography.

In 1492 Columbus had set sail to North America. As the Europeans had started to discover the new land they became interested. This was going to be very bad for the Native Americans. The Europeans had many advantages over the Native Americans. One advantage was that the Europeans had weapons. Although the Native Americans had spears and other things used to hunt animals, the Europeans had guns. This meant that the Europeans could easily conquer the land by killing everyone with guns. Another advantage the Europeans had was that the Europeans had carried diseases. If a Native American had caught that disease and it spread the whole population would have been gone. The Europeans would not be effected because there cells are already used to that disease and it will not effect them. The Europeans had many advantages over the Native Americans. Some types of diseases were Smallpox, The Bubonic Plague, and The Black Death. All these disease came from all the animals that were domesticated in Europe.

For example, the Black plague caused a constint spread of a virus around Europe. A rat from China traveled on a ship and the disease traveled from the rat to 20million people.

There were many disadvantages to Europe also known as Eurasia but the most important to me is Eurasians were disunified by geography. I say that for many reasons. In the middle of Europe were only plains. That’s a place where you can’t grow any crops because of the heat. Also raise a population because of low stock on survival needs. Such as cows, rice, barley, oats and others. That’s why most people moved east and west on that location. The eastern and western side was more civilized for this reason. Another reason was that since the land was so rich in eastern and western locations people were always fighting over it. Unlike these days there were hundreds of Countries. A knight on a horse with a piece of land could be considered as a country. Also since their were so many fighting and weapons were advancing surrounding countries took advantage in many ways. Attacking when not prepared was often occurring.
In 1492, I believe that the greatest disadvantage europe had over the world was geography. Europe could not invade other countries such as china. This was because china was surrond. One side was mountaions, the other side was protected by rivers and the last side was protected by the Great Wall. The great wall was built over thousands of years ago to keep mongalions out. But if they invaded, the chinnese would encourage them to be chinnese. For example, they would say (eat some chinnese food,wear some chinnese cholthes.) From there on, certain people would had time to invent new technology such as guns, steels, tools to protect themselves from dangerous, invade other countries to build stronger empire, explore the new world or expanding their farming or to develop trading skills to trade with outside world. Unlike the Native Americans or Africans who spent their time and energy mainly on food.
In the year of 1492, both advantages of the Europeans and disadvantages of the Native Americans and the Africans led to the ascendancy of the Europeans. I chose to write about the advantages of the Europeans. One advantage was the technology of the newly invented boat called the caravel. The smooth, rounded hull was capable of handling the rough seas quite well. Caravels had a large center rudder, making it possibles to make fast turns in the seas. Adjustable sails helped the ship travel in wind blown in different directions, instead of just one. Also, the ship could sail against winds.
Another invention with technology was the astrolabe. By using stars, navigators were able to use this device to determine their location. The Europeans had motives, financial help, and technology that would be needed to sail the seas. Other than technology and inventions, guns, germs and steel gave them an even higher advantage, allowing them to ascend even further. All three assisted the Europeans. Each of them killed the Native American Indians.
Guns and steel were intentionally used to attack them, and many would die. Germs were accidentally brought to the "new world" and caused many illnesses and sicknesses, such as diseases. These killed the Native American Indians as well. They died because they didn't get a chance to become immune to the diseases. Those are the advantages that Europeans had which helped them ascend.
In 1492 I think the best advantage that the europeans had was the fact that they had more knowledge about certain things than other countries at the time. For example they had weapons like guns.
Asia came out with the first guns but they had no use for them so they passed them on to the europeans.
The europeans used these weapons to concour all of the other countries.
Plus everyone was afraid of these weapons so they fell into the europeans trap.
That is why i think the europeans came out on top.

How and why diseases leads to European ascendancy is that the New World was diseased by smallpox, typhus, cholera, and measles by the Europeans because when the Europeans came to the Native Americans they got infected by diseases of the Europeans.
