For this week's question cycle you may read letters from any of the blogs. Be sure to include the class along with the name of the author you are questioning. Ask tough questions of the letters, they're going to the President and they are about your financial future therefor they have to be sharp.

rinaldi i think you are write in the scence that they should sine a tready with chin if they did we could probably get itims cheaper then we are now and since china has such a big econemy wich rivels our own that it will be a huge benifite to the united states
then our ceonomy will grow even lager.
The person's letter that i have chosen is Rinaldi Wasemebeck from class 702. Rinaldi wrote about how President Elect Obama should stop making loans to other countries such as China and make our own materials. Rinaldi also suggested that the car industries should make cars that run on solar energy, that President Obama should cut the taxes and should make richer people such as Donald Trump pay more taxes and he also wrote about making a peace treaty in Iraq.
I have a couple of questions for him. My first question is if we would start manufacturing things that they make in China in the U.S, where are we going to make the factories? We already have tons and tons of businesses and that will raise the taxes even more. My second question is you said that the richer and upper class people should get charged more taxes. My question is how are our taxes going to go down if you suggested we manufacture things in the U.S instead of China. My third questions is that how are cars going to run on solar power? At night, there is no light except the dim street lights. I don't think thats enough light for all the cars.
The Student, I am going to ask several questions to is Filip Bendersky, from class 703.
Filip stated: Dear President Elect Barrack Obama
The issue I think you should focus on is Global Warming. I think you should focus on this because it’s an issue that concerns the whole world. Like how Polar Bears are becoming extinct from all the heat. And the heat also melts their homes which leaves them nowhere to live. And Polar Bears need a cold place to live or they will die. So I think that you should make the world only drive fuel efficient cars to save the Polar Bears and every other place that has only snow and ice. I also think that you should make everybody pay the same amount of tax instead of making the upper class man and woman pay more than the middle class man and woman. I don’t think that’s write. I also think that you should only make Hybrid cars that run on electricity and or fuel efficient gases. I also think that u should make abortion illegal in all counties. I hope my advice helps you.
Sincerely Filip Bendersky
Mr Filip Bendersky, We're all human, not animals...every person is different. People of middle class has a range of $25,000 and $100,000. The high class has an income of $250,000. You want the middle class families starving without food just to pay the same amount of tax as the high classes, when they have no problem paying??? Mr Filip, If the USA makes hybrid cars now, did you know it will cost billions and billions of dollars just to create loads of hybrid cars?? If we do this during the economic crisis and the cash we own China would never end??? Philip, You want Usa to go to war, just by trying to control another country by saying abortion in you're country is illegal??
I choose Rinaldi Wasembeck from class 702. He wrote that President Elect Obama should stop making loans. Also taxes should be given to rich people. Also they want to have a peace treaty with Iraq. My first question is if richer people get taxed more won't people get poor and will ecomony will bad because people won't be able to pay these taxes. Another qusetion is to learn how China makes all of it's exportes so we won't be in depted. Another one is if cars run on solar energy how will people ride at night. And how come cars run on solar energy and lunar energy. Also how can we have a treaty if Iraqies don't want a treaty and a goverment. Also how to stop the war and save many lives.
The person's letter that I have chosen is Susana Liang from class 702. This is her letter:
Dear President Elect Obama,
Congratulations on your winning the 2008 presidential election!
Our economy has been bad, I have some ideas that I would hope you would listen to and reconsider your economical proposal. It would help out and possibly make a solution to this huge problem we are having.
1. I think that if people earn a huge amount of money they should pay more for taxes because if they earn more they shouldn’t mind paying more since they have earn more profit then others. As if lets say you own a huge store that earns a huge amount of profit and there’s this little store across the street from you but earns very little profit shouldn’t the huge store get more tax fees since they are earning more?
2. I think that car companies should make cars that run on electricity because it helps our environment, because of cars that run on gas it pollutes the earth; I know it would cost billions of dollars to change all stations to recharge electric cars but it helps the earth and could stop pollution. Also In the US, about 20% of all greenhouse gas emissions come from cars and light trucks like SUVs, contributing to climate change, air pollution, and diseases.
3. I also think that for immigration, immigrants shouldn’t be able to get drivers licenses and etc. because once lots of immigrants come to America, the immigrants would most likely get what they want lets say jobs, people who already have jobs that are not immigrants would be scared to lose their jobs because once more and more people come to America and they look for jobs to earn money the people who aren’t immigrants lose there job. I think that immigrants should be let in to come to America but they should stay in America for an amount of time to become an American citizen and earn stuff like drivers’ licenses and etc.
4. I think we should communicate with other countries and make peace and love, this way we would have no wars and no terrorists and etc. No one gets killed or harmed and we would feel entirely safe in our country and soldiers wouldn’t be drafted off to war and soldiers would be killed and families would be upset and terrified if we try to communicate and be friendly this way we could make a whole world of friendship, love, and peace.
I agree with you on your plan of lowering health care insurance because lets say a women was seriously injured and needed help but didn’t have enough money for insurance with this we can help the women out with a price of affordable insurance and we can save tons of lives and feel happy. Also with lower health care insurance we can save up and still have an amount for other stuff that we need that are useful in our daily lives.
You can help us!
Sincerely,
Susana Liang
My question to Susana Liang about the first idea in her letter is that “ What will change if the people who earn a huge amount of money pay more taxes to the economy? ” (You did not explain what would happen to the economy from this). My question to Susana Liang about the second idea in her letter is that “ Why make cars that run on electricity that cost double the price of gasoline cars or more? " (You did not explain what would happen to the economy from this). Susana Liang third idea in the letter was right because it tells how it will be useful to the economy. My question to Susana Liang about the forth idea in her letter is that “ What will happen to the economy from making commutation and peace with other country’s? ” (You did not explain what would happen to the economy from this). This are all of my questions to Susana Liang letter.
WORK MORE AND CHECK YOUR ANSWERS TO EXPLAIN!!!!!!
¼ RIGHT
i have some questions for kiran kaul. kiran said two things that i kindof disagreed with. she said...
1. One thing that I think we should do is to cut prices on a lot of our everyday stuff. The gas prices should go down. The price for milk. Lots of food prices should go down. If we cut our prices on a lot of our stuff , then there will be more people buying.
2. Another good thing to do is to cut down the taxes for people who cant afford that much. I think that all the huge, big houses should be paying a little more tax. Many people have little houses and the taxes are huge.
3. The last thing that you should do is if nothing works out, you should just pay for all the damages. I think president George Bush didn’t do a very good job in letting the banks have freedom. If you pay for everything then don’t let the banks again we wont have another economy problem anymore.
well i agree taxes should go down a little but think about it. were do you think all those taxes go to, they go to the goverment wich gives the schools and jobs the supply of money. if taxes go down on every thing the goverment will lose money.
in kirans 3rd opinion she said if nothing works the goverment should pay of every thing. well if taxes go down to much then the goverment cant pay anything of. and do you now how much money that is. to much to pay of.kiran what do you mean bye the banks will have freedom?
i think theres a different answer that can solve these problems.
The letter that i chose was Imani Clarke's letter. It saids:
Dear President Elect Obama,
Congratulations on your winning the 2008 presidential election.
Here are some ideas that I think you should consider in your economic proposal.
A. The car industry should invest the money that they have made inventing cars that run on gas, in making new car models that don’t run on gas but on corn or special herbs. This would really help the environment.
B. Government should control the bonuses that the Wall Street executives and other financial personnel receive at the end of the year,
because they have requested federal funds to bail out their financial problems. These funds should be reinvested in the company to stimulate growth. This would really help the economy.
C. Open up communication with other nations, in order to improve our relations with these nations and ensure America’s position as a world leader. This would help foreign policy and work towards securing world peace.
I also agree with your idea of eliminating income taxes for seniors making less than $50,000. I agree with this idea because all seniors who only make $50,000 or less can’t afford to pay income taxes. They need their money for health care, housing, food, and daily living expenses.
Keep up the good work.
Sincerely,
Imani Clarke
Well i agree about how Imani thinks about making the world better but dont you think that having herbs and corn to make a car go than gas, it won't make any pollution? I think that no matter what you need to gas to start up a car so i really dont think that idea can work. My other question to Imani is don't you think we are wasting money and more taxes for unhelpful things to try to make the economy right?
Other than these questions, your letter is pretty good.
The letter I chose is Susana Liang's. Susana stated that car companies should start making electric cars. I agree with Susana 100% but it will take a long period of time for the world to adapt to it. Inaddition, it would take to much money for car companies to produce. Last week congress met with 3 major car companies and talked about bailing them out. General Motors is on a short budget and cannot afford to do this. Therefor, we should use solar energy because we already have the source and is easy to adapt to.
Well my question is to Marius Fitzworme. He said this in part of his letter “Your team also makes a good point when it argues that businesses will make more jobs if they get a $3000 dollar tax credit.” Well don’t you think if we give back a lower tax credit we will have more money to use for better things? I agree 100% on the second part of his letter all his Ideas are good but with all the problems it will take a while to solve every one of them.
Rinaldi- I do agree with you on incresing taxes for weaalthy people and ending the war in iraq. But why stop paying china for the things they give us. basically we would have to pay more tomake our own materials. You would have start another business with money invested into it. Then you would have to hire people. Then you would have to bye supplies. So why pay more money on the small thing?
Please ingore my other comment...it has grammer mistakes and I fixed mine.I could'nt delete the comment.
The comment I chose to ask several questions to is Filip Bendersky.
Philip Bendersky stated:

Mr Filip Bendersky, people of middle classes has a range of $25,000 to $100,000 dollars per year. While the high classes has an income of $250,000 dollars and up every year. You want the middle class families starving to death without food just to pay the same amount of tax as the high classes, when they have no problem paying??? Mr Filip, If the USA makes hybrid cars now, did you know it will cost billions and billions of dollars just to create loads of hybrid cars, during the economic crisis?? Mr. Philip, You want Usa to go to war, just by trying to control another country by saying abortion in you're country is illegal??Well every country is different just how people are different.
i think that if the economy should move forward i agree and disagree with rinaldi.for example bringing back the troops is a good idea but remember Obama cannot bring back the troops until iraq has a stable goverment.and think about this, how do you think leaving Iraq out to dry is gonna help us long term. Its OUR goverments fault that we are in this mess.
also i think that we should stop making loans to china for now or keep giving loans to china because if you think about it almost everything we have is from china or some other small country.peaple who want the newest jordans cant get it if we cut the supply of china can they.If so comment back how.
The comment that I have chosen to question is Imani's. One of her suggestions may not become too successful, due to the items that it will require to help make happen. This was her first suggestion to President Elect Barack Obama about the investments from profits made by selling cars. To sum up the suggestion, she said the car industry should spend their investments from their profits on making cars that run on different fuels, which are corn or herbs. As of right now, we grow corn and harvest them to eat, but methanol, and ingredient found in corn is being mixed with other substances to make a substitute for gas. If we use all the parts of the corn, with the high demand of gas, how are we supposed to eat corn if we run out of supply? Also, what if the herbs that we use to fuel the cars are experimented by scientists, and they realize it is important to cure a deadly sickness? Won't this just cause another economic crisis?
Those are my questions for Imani.
I choose tara mangos statement. Tara talked about how many people are loosing they’re jobs. I agree with the fact that it’s a bad thing but it would be a good idea if the government just pays everything. The government were the people who let the banks have a little freedom so why should we be loosing our jobs because of there immaturity. Since the government has now known they’re mistake they should just start all over. My question to tara is that if she had any other suggestion to the president what would she say ? Another question is that if the government dosnt help to pay then how is the problem going to be over.
The person I have chose is Tara mango. Ms. Mango wrote Dear President Barrack Obama,
Well to start off congratulations on being the next president of the United States. For this letter I would like to talk about our economy. Our economy is falling like crazy and we need to do something to help it. Hopefully when you com into office we can start to fix this right away.
Things must change and I will start of with something you have said in the past three months. Well you advisor said that the stimulus plan will rise to be $175 billion dollars. This is insane how are people that don’t have jobs going to pay for these things. And spending $700 billion dollars to buy bad debts is not good.
Well as I was saying before about people who can not afford to lose their job is something that is very important. In Foxwoods Casino about 700 people lost their job because of the economy. When we have 1000’s of people a day losing their job that makes it harder for people to spend money which means people aren’t going to buy things and that not going to make the economy higher and then we have less workers.
Finally there is one more thing, in the 1970’s their was also an economy problem and they fired 1000’s of teachers around the world and one teacher had to teach 50 children. Well now almost 40 years later will this have to happen again?
We obviously can’t go on with this we need you help!
Sincerely,
Tara Mango my question to ms. Mango is how do you propose president elect Obama will fix all the job losses
The letter I chose to comment on is rinaldi wasemback of class 702. Rinaldi, I agree with the statement that richer people should have higher taxes. This is because I think if these taxes were higher it could help the economy pay of our debt and help others save extra money to pay of loans, rents, morgages, and to buy things for there families. There was one thing in perticular I wasn't sure about. Why should we stop paying china for all the things they give to us? We need China to help us save money. For example it would take much more money to make our own paper and toys and important supplies we do get from there. There may be somethings we actuaklly may not have the experience or money to make. Another thing i like is the peace treaty with Iraq. The war has gone on for to long and its enough and a waste of money! If we could just sighn a trewaty and call off the war and even try to be peaceful and nice our economy could save money rather than lose it.
The person I choose was Elizabeth Sangadzhiev in class 724. This was her letter to President Elect Obama: Dear President-Elect Barack Obama,
I have read your proposals on fixing the nation's financial and economic crisis. One of your proposals is - a $3,000 tax credit for employers for each new person they hire. I think this proposal will encourage many companies to create new jobs. Also, a 90-day moratorium on most home foreclosures will put people in less danger of losing their homes and give them more time. Another one of your proposals is to eliminate income taxes on unemployment benefits. I believe that people who are unemployed can not pay off debts and lose money. I do hope that you will make your proposals happen and they will better our economy. I think that we need to find a way for banks to stop selling loans & start making better decisions. You should also cut income taxes and I believe that you could help dig our way out of this mess.
Sincerely,
Elizabeth Sangadzhiev
My question for Ms. Sangadzhiev is that isn’t it unfair to let the unemployed to not pay off debts or lose money? Because if the employed people have to pay off taxes and not the unemployed people it is unfair for people who are employed and still have to pay off taxes because people most likely have jobs because of the reason to pay off mortgages and taxes and other things like that so if the unemployed people don’t have to pay off things like that, they can just sit there and relax while employed people are working so hard to feed their children and pay off debts and bills.
I agree with what you said Chris about passing a law to stop prices from going up, if more money comes out.But the comment I choose was Katie's:
You had some good points with economic crisis like:how people are not able to keep there jobs. Teachers are being cut which is affecting the learning, and how people are afraid of spending money but all of this is still not helping the economy anyway.I agree with you but you should of gave some more suggestions to help out the crisis. So my question to you is: what plan would you create to help out the teacher cuts and high taxes?( you didn't mention it )Well if that's a problem then you should create a plan to stop it or it will get worst.
The person's letter i have chosen is Tara. She wrote:

How can Obama help us and if he can how can we prevent it from happing again?
The comment i chose was Lamar from 703. Lamar said that if we dont help our country will be the poorest one. I dont think we will be the poorest one thats just exagarting. Maybe be poor but not the poorest one. i agree with him when he said that the economy is a destruction.
The comment I choose was Justin's from 723. This is what He said Dear President Elect Barack Obama,
Our economy has been going down the wrong path. If our country continues the cycle of capitalism, we will probably be heading to an even bigger downfall than we are already experiencing. Miserably, 70% of our economic activity involves consumer spending money on merchandises. People are starting to spend less money on unnecessary items, resulting in businesses going out of business. Since businesses are going out of business now businesses have to cut back salary, making workers buy less merchandise.
You have said that you will help the economy by proposing, a 90-day moratorium on most home foreclosures, eliminating income taxes on unemployment benefits, etc. The proposal that you made which I favor the most is a $3,000 tax credit fro employers for each new person they hire – a measure intended to encourage job creation. I assume that this will without doubt help promote employment and help the economy.
Sincerely,
Justin Martinelli
I agree with Justin on the last Propasal. Obama's 3.000 dollar credit idead might work.
My question is, Should we tax higher? If we do, we might be able to get even more jobs.
My question is for Lamar of class 703. He states that:
Dear president-elect barack obama,
the united states is needing for money.we need to work together so the economy would stand and be strong.people aren't aware how close we are to economic destruction.we are going to be one of the poorest country soon.
I have read about your proposal and i don't think that people shouldn't be able to take out of their retirement savings .the reason i say this is because what happens if they take all of their money out of their retirement savings, then they wont be able to have anything to fall back on and they would have to work.
I think you should work on cars.i think you should make fewer cars that take gas and make more cars that run on organic things.
I agree with you about the retirement but for the car thing I have 1 question. What organic things are you talking about because if you use waste, It might cause a reaction and that might be really bad.
Web log # 9
I chose Lamar Menard from class 703.
Lamar said Dear president-elect Obama,
The United States needs for money. We need to work together so the economy would stand and be strong. People aren't aware how close we are to economic destruction. We are going to be one of the poorest countries soon.

I think you should work on cars. I think you should make fewer cars that take gas and make more cars that run on organic things.
I don’t think we will be the poorest one that’s just exaggerating. Maybe be poor but not the poorest one. I agree with him when he said that the economy is destruction. We all hope Obama will do something about it.
